The Challenge
With over 3 million shoppers per week, B&M believes in selling big brands at sensational prices, leading to rapid growth across the UK.
B&M made the choice to renovate its storage facilities in order to bring it up to date and better suit 2024’s operations.
Our Solution
The current site was fitted with drive-in racking, which no longer suited the use of the warehouse, and so APR racking was identified as the ideal replacement.
The biggest challenge was the Construction Design and Management (CDM), as the revision needed to be made while the storage facility was live.

The results
PD Industrial deployed several teams to dismantle the drive-in racking and simultaneously build the new APR racking, without needing to take the site offline.
With its extensive experience working on similar sites, PD Industrial could deploy its CDM expertise to organise the works in a manner that did not disrupt the clients’ operations. Once the project was undertaken, B&M was left with sturdy racking, which suited the requirements of its operations much better than the previous drive-in racking.
